One Week of Hairstyles

Do you ever get bored of your everyday hair style? I have crazy frizzy hair and I have to style my hair every day. I recently told my husband that I needed to wash my hair, but I wasn’t mentally prepared to dry it. I like to try to do a different hair style every day just to change it up.

I usually can go about three days in between washing my hair. I can go four or five, but that’s pushing it. I’m going to show you a week’s worth of hairstyles. If you are bored of your hair, try a new style and see how long you can go without washing your hair.

Monday

I washed my hair on Sunday and then braided it into two french braids. I slept in the braids and didn’t take them out until Monday afternoon. My hair was crimpy curly when I took the braids out.

After I took out the braids, I added a hair oil to help calm the frizziness. I also added a little hairspray to keep the style all night.

This look is fun because you can have a lazy hair day on Sunday and then have a cute and funky crimpy style for a fun night. This is the way I wore my hair at the fair with my family.

When you braid your hair, you can get at least two great styles that last for two days.

This is a pic of me and my cute family out on an adventure. I did a top knot style that day. I always throw my hair up in a bun when I’m in a hurry because it’s cute and also very easy.

You just put a ponytail a little higher on your head and then you add more elastics until you get a good hold. I always bring some hair down by my ears and sometimes I add a headband.

I use the bun style when my hair is a little dirty. You can also part your hair and let your bangs down. I like to pull all of my hair up, but you can do what looks best on you. Try this style when you don’t want to wash your hair, but need a cute style for the day.

I have curly hair and I like to straighten it often. Just straight hair is very cute. Sometimes you can put a braid in your hair or pull your bangs back after you straighten it.

Remember that when you straighten your hair, you need to use a heat protectant spray. This helps with the split ends. Also, try to use a low heat on the flat iron. This also helps with lowering the damage caused by heat styling.

This is a pic of me with a loose curl style. I like curling my hair after straightening it. To achieve this style, I use a flat iron. I just wrap a bigger section of hair and only twist the iron once around. This helps with getting the loose effect.

Flat iron curls are very trendy. you can do this for a day of work or to go out on the weekend. I added in a hair oil to get the sleekness and then some hairspray to hold the style.

Friday

This style is very cute and simple. It’s a big braid with some random curls at the bottom.

I took my bangs and started a dutch braid and pinned it under some hair. I also pulled the outside parts of the braid to make it bigger. This is a simple style if you are going on a date or just out with the girls. Try it and tell me what you think.

I love that it keeps the hair out of my face and is cute at the same time.

Saturday

This hairstyle is super simple, too. It’s just a half up style and then put in a bun with loose curls on the bottom.

There is also a trendy style right now that takes two dutch braids on top of your head and then pulls them into a bun. This is a kinda lazy fun style that I like to do when I work on Saturdays. It takes curls from the day before with a twist.

Sunday

It’s kind of hard to see. But, this is a Pigtail style fishtail braid. It is a good Sunday style.

I parted my hair down the middle and then did an elastic on both sides. Then, I did a fishtail braid and slipped the elastic down to the end and tied it off. This is a super messy braid but a great lazy Sunday style.

Fall Fashion to Match Your Skin Tone

I’m excited for fall and the new fashion trends it will bring. I’m not a huge fashionista, but I like to pretend. With Labor Day behind us we can focus on everything fall, and pumpkin spice right?!? In the fall people usually darken their blondes and color pallets for the season. I think this fall, trends will go more to the dark side, meaning dark shadows and dark lipstick. 2016 has been a bold year with lipstick and sharp, on-point eyebrows. Here are some trends you should try this fall.

Before we talk about fall makeup and hair too much, it’s important to know which skin tone you have to determine what colors will look the best on you. Look at the veins in your wrist; stand directly in the sun and look at the color. If they have a greenish tint, you have a warm skin tone. If they appear blue, then your skin tone is cool. There is also another category; it’s neutral. Neutral is if your veins look blue-green, but if you look at your skin in the sun it looks green. This means your skin is neither cool or warm. Warm skin looks yellow or gold in the sun, cool skin tones looks pink or bluish, and neutral is somewhere in between. So, with this knowledge, we can try to find the right colors that look best on you.

Bold Lipstick

This year, I think the dark, bold lipstick will be very trendy in the fall. Colors like deep reds, purples, and the color we all love: burgundy!

Cool skin tones: Try to stick with red, pink, or some purple lipstick.

Warm skin tones: Choose a more orange-based color, like red-orange, coral, or browns.

Neutral skin tones: Try some vibrant reds or deep purples.

Dark Eyeshadow

When choosing eyeshadow for different skin tones, it’s good to know what will complement your skin tone and pop your eye color.

Cool tones: Blue-based eyeshadows look best.

Warm skin tones: Earthy colors look best, like browns and tans, yellows, and oranges.

Neutral skin tones: Try to complement your eye color and hair color, but you can use practically any shade.

Here are some eyeshadow color palettes on Amazon that would look best for each tone:

Cool tones, Warm Tones, Neutral tones

Fall Hair Trends

This year, hair trends are mostly simple. We have the textured, lob haircut, which is a long bob with texturized layers that look amazing with loose waves.

Then, we have just long hair with some balayage hair painted color. That also looks gorgeous with loose waves.

Then, we have braids like in one of my earlier posts (check it out here). This year the boxer braid is very trendy.

Fall Fashion Trends

Fall typically means boots and scarfs! Ankle boots are in this year, but so are knee highs, I think. They are just a classic look for fall. There are also certain colors that look best on different skin tones. Cool Skin tones look good with blues and pinks, and warm tones look good in autumn colors like orange and brown. Keep in mind that gold jewelry looks best on warm skin tones and silver jewelry looks better on cool skin tones, regardless of the season.
